A new bullshit war like no other
Taliban guerrillas advance on Kabul. Horror scenes at the US Embassy in Afghanistan.
I've seen something like it before: the shameful rush of US soldiers to get out of Vietnam. But no one can say that capital has been defeated. The wars in Vietnam and Afghanistan ensured increased military expenditures and profits for the owners of the American military industrial complex.
In the past war was a continuation of politics by other means. Since the 1960s, it has been transformed into a continuation of the economy by other means. The political outcome of the war is irrelevant, as the conflict is just a way of continuing to profit from death.
The suffering imposed on the invaded country (and on the families of US soldiers who die and are maimed in war) does not enter into political, budgetary and economic calculations. It is just a by-product of profitable businesses that provoke new wars or even permanent war.
But something different is happening, because just as it flees Afghanistan, the US sends troops to Yemen. This new foreign military invasion takes place without any opposition from the press and the American population.
Defeat or victory no longer causes any reflection or political impact in the US. The human content appears to have been completely removed from the military scene. Perhaps this is the first clear indication that the Pentagon is already commanded by an Artificial Intelligence https://www.wired.com/story/pentagon-bolstering-ai-systems-hacking-itself/.
Machines have not defeated humanity (Hypothesis from the movie Terminator). It was humans themselves who turned warfare into a self-sufficient computerized war game capable of deploying troops.
Napoleon began to come to an end when he decided to move his huge multinational army to Russia regardless of the consequences of defeat. Will American computerized military Bonapartism bring about the downfall of the US? Well... that's what we'll see soon.
